HIGH ADDED VALUE CAROTENOIDS PRODUCTION FROM BLAKESLEA TRISPORA BY VALORIZATION OF AGRO-FOOD WASTES

Herewith solid agro-food wastes such as cabbage, watermelon husk and peach peels from northern Greece were used as main carbon sources into submerged B. trispora cultures for carotenoids production. Optimization of carotenoids production in culture medium with the cabbage was further investigated in another experimental series with the addition of cheap and environmental friendly nutrients.
