Acrylic coatings based on Paraloid B72 and Paraloid B44 were modified by adding 2% nano-alumina pigment in order to obtain transparent, non-yellowing, chemically stable and protective coatings. Plain and as-modified coatings were applied on sterling silver (92.5% Ag, 7.5% Cu) coupons surface and left on display, at indoor conditions for six years. Aged coupons were examined by means of SEM, AFM, XRD and FTIR.
